- Ismail Büyükçelebi holds a PhD on fiqh (Islamic jurispredence) from Erzurum Faculty of Islamic Sciences. Alongside his academic studies he delivered lectures in various provinces of Turkey as an official preacher. He took editorial and management posts first in Turdav Press and later on in Zaman, a highly-acclaimed national Turkish newsaper. He presently lives in the United States, giving sermons and lectures on Islam. Ismail Büyükçelebi After completing Quranic recitation studies and the divinity school successfully, the author went on to continue in his academic career at Izmir Supreme Institute of Islam, Turkey (1969-1974). He obtained his PhD on Fiqh (Islamic Law) from Erzurum Faculty of Islamic Sciences (1976-1981). Alongside his studies he started to deliver lectures in various provinces of Turkey as an official preacher as of 1969. He took editorial and management posts first in Turdav Press and later on in Zaman, a national Turkish daily. He presently lives in the United States, giving sermons and lectures on Islam.
